t i t l e: Peep Hole Show
m e d i u m: door, peep hole, acrylic paint, curtain, video projection

The door and curtain in this piece represent both a passage and a barrier, but in both instances a threshold where one condition becomes another. The bulls-eye and peep hole are intended to mark the center of focus as well as the targeting of our sub-conscious which media today assaults with images of constructed personas and identities. And the video which is voyeuristically viewed through the peep hole projects the image results of Google searches on words exploring sexual orientation...asexual, homosexual, heterosexual, etc. The video speaks to the further influence of the mediation of truth, meaning, and association as it relates to identity…..it is now common for us to construct meaning by Googling a word and extracting the results as validation and truth.
